Updated: May 17, 2020

  • I was told that I needed contacts

  • I was told that I needed home town residency

  • I was told that it was impossible for a guy and they only take women in OB/GYN

  • I was told I was an old graduate

  • I was told I needed a lot of money to match in the USA

  • I was told I needed 250/260 +

  • I was told I needed research & clinical experience in the same speciality that I applied

  • I was told that my accent had to sound as a English native

  • I was told it was impossible for IMG to match into a surgical speciality

  • I showed them I matched without contacts

  • I showed them I matched without a residency

  • I showed them that I matched being a guy

  • I showed them that I matched 2020 after I graduated in 2015

  • I showed them that I matched with no economically support from my parents or anyone

  • I showed that I match with 234/244

  • I showed them them I matched in OB/GYN with USCE & research in a different speciality

  • I showed them that I matched with my agentinian accent

  • I showed them that I matched being an IMG

As an IMG you will face TONS of adversities, negativism, you will hear many times:

“You can’t”, “its impossible”, “you are wasting your time”, “you need money, contacts”, etc etc etc…

You are doing a great job, continue following your dream, studying, and giving it all.

IT IS POSSIBLE!!
